Yet Another Mudslide in Seyðisfjörður, Whole Town To Be Evacuated

A large mudslide hit the town of Sey isfj r ur in East Iceland, causing damage to several houses and completely destroying one. There are conflicting reports on whether the mudslide fell within or outside the evacuation area, but no injuries have been reported. The whole town will now be evacuated, and everyone is asked to present themselves at the Her ubrei community centre or call 1717. Search-and-rescue teams and police from various areas have been sent to Sey isfj r ur. The outer part of town is without electricity, and SAR team members will have to go by boat to repair it. The torrential rain that the town has been experiencing for the past week is expected to let up tomorrow.
