Description:

Thawing permafrost can lead to significant infrastrucutre damage. Engineers at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium are working to protect critical infrastructure against the impacts of permafrost thaw. Join us as we learn about how thermosiphon cooling systems utilize renewable energy to protect infrastructure on permafrost foundations against thaw.

This presentation will provide an overview of thermosiphon technology and cooling methods, as well as how to identify systems that may benefit from this type of technology.
