In the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, 22 active forest fires were still burning as of June 22, after responders extinguished 16 wildfires in a single day. The fires had affected more than 2,000 hectares, with crews working in Purovsky, Krasnoselkupsky, and Nadymsky districts.

As of the morning of June 16, four wildfires were still burning in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, covering 209 hectares. Firefighters were working to contain the blazes in the Purovsky, Krasnoselkupsky, and Nadymsky districts.

Emergency services extinguished two forest fires in Shuryshkarsky District in Russia’s Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug; as of the morning of May 19, there were no active wildfires in the region. The burned area totaled 18.3 hectares and both fires were contained within a day of detection.
