California faces more flooding after yet another powerful Pacific storm

California has been hit by another powerful Pacific storm, causing two deaths and further flooding in the state. The storm brought damaging winds, rain and snow to already saturated areas, with the San Francisco Bay Area particularly affected. The storm was caused by an “explosive cyclogenisis” and was the state’s 12th atmospheric river since December. The storms have caused flooding and snowfall, with the Mammoth Mountain resort announcing it will remain open for skiing and snowboarding until at least the end of July.
