A dead sperm whale washed ashore near the road turnoff to Skipum by Stokkseyri in South Iceland, one of two sperm whale strandings reported within a few days. A local resident who visited the site said the whale appeared to have stranded recently but was already pale, and the carcass is visible from a nearby road.
